It is the future and the earth is controlled by a huge corporation called Men-Tell. In this time it is against the law to bear a 2nd child because of over population even if your first child died at birth. John Brennick and his wife were put into a maximum security prison called the Fortress for trying to escape the country to have their second baby. Their baby will become the property of Met-Tel and they will stay in The Fortress for the rest of their lives where even their dreams are monitored unless they can do what noone has ever done before and escape.
